Five Finger Key Matching (Level 1)
These are such wonderful little flashcards. They support students in Level 1 who need a little practice with identifying the individual keys on the keyboard. It helps them to recognise the patterns of groups of balck notes, and match white notes amongst them. It is also a finger number challenge as well - they need to play the matching key with the correct finger!
This is a wonderful mid-lesson activity for any moment when a student is feeling confused. Just pull out a small handful and ask the student to have fun with some matching!
NEW Fallboard Game (Levels 2/3 +) “Summer Picnic”
This is a brand new fallboard game theme. It joins the others; “Under the Sea”, “Farmyard”, “Busy City” “Summer Garden”.
These games are so much fun. The playing board fits perfectly on the lid of the keyboard, so it’s simple to play at any moment in a lesson. It takes about 7-10 minutes to complete and supports note reading in the Treble and Bass Clef, and also keyboard letter names. The student matches little cards to the letters on the board to create a cheerful picnic scene.
Landmark Note ‘A’ Worksheets (Level 3)
These worksheets are so clever and fun. They are a perfect to complete together right in the lesson or send home as homework. They teach students to quickly identify the ‘A’s on the stave. Using ‘A’ as a landmark is so useful because from their the student only needs to use the alphabet to find the other notes. This is a wonderful companion to Level 3 and 'The A Song’.
This worksheet is unique because after the correct notes are found, there is a symbol code to help students spell musical words.
New ‘TREES’ Piano Solo Collection (Beyond Level 3)
This month you will the first three piano solos in the new collection called Trees. These are beautiful pieces for the early intermediate pianist. Each one is highly patterned and perfect for performance, or for those times when a students needs an easy-to-learn piece mid-year to help keep up motivation.
Teaching Points - The pieces are composed to give the early intermediate player experience with arpeggio patterns in the left hand with a singing melody in the right hand. Similar to the other PianoForte piano solo collections, the notation encourages reading and musicianship.
Harmony Improv in A Minor (Major Scales Supplement)
This wonderful piece is an accompaniment to the Harmony Improve in C Major. Similarly, it is composed as a simple melody with a harmony accompaniment written in Roman Numerals. This minor version is extremely useful because it asks the student to play a Dominant chord in minor - a V/vi chord. This requires the raising of the leading tone in the minor key to create the Harmonic Minor.
The piece also has a short scale passage using the Melodic minor tones. The entire piece is so useful to help students understand the reasons behind the three version of the minor scale and how they work in practice. This piece can also be transposed, providing an even richer study of harmony and theory.
